Is there a reason to double the amount of 4G and 8G?

You can use 4G + 2G for 6G, but when you plug in the memory, you usually need to plug in the same two for better performance

I put 4G in the place where I used to use 2G and use it as 6G

There used to be a time when you had to plug in the same company's same capacity memory at the same time with dual channels to get the performance right. Now that we have a new technology, we don't have to do that, but it looks like it's doubling because we're plugging in two of the same things as we used to do.
