The reason why jajangmyeon tastes sweet is because it has sugar in it.
Without sugar, it's not sweet
When you make a bowl of jajangmyeon, you add about 8 sugar cubes.
It's sweeter than the first time I made it, so I'm adding about three times as much as the old jajangmyeon now.
The basic ingredient for making jajangmyeon is chunjang.
However, the paste itself tastes salty and not sweet.
So, I put caramel in chunjang and this is jajangmyeon.
Caramel is made with sugar.
The reason why it tastes sweet is because of sugar.
