I made jajang rice with black bean paste.
I thought that chunjang would taste as sweet as jajangmyeon, but it's just salty.
Do I have to add sugar separately?

The black bean paste itself tastes salty.
You need to add sweet things like sugar or starch syrup
Black bean paste is a mixture of black bean paste and caramel.
So you have to add something sweet like caramel.
Sugar, oligosaccharide, or starch syrup may be added.
