What is the difference in speed between the skylake and the carbylake when viewed from the same i5 CPU?
Is it easy to feel?

There is little difference between the two.
It is more affected by the number of cores.
There's a difference in clocks in terms of both Carby Lake and Sky Lake, but it's not that big.
And since they both use the same process, 14 nm, there is no difference in the process itself.
The cabi-lake is better in terms of power efficiency, and the h.265/VP9 10bit hardware acceleration and all cabi-lake chipsets have USB 3.1 native support.
In terms of performance, there is a 5-10% difference, but it is difficult to actually feel the difference.
