I recommend Sony FDR-X3000.
It's not a solid action camera with a GoPro feel, but this might be better if it's for video shooting purposes.

But there's nothing like GoPro 5
The Sony x3000 is better than the GoPro 5 at night, but other than that, I don't feel like I'm still following GoPro.
