Do I just reduce eating and then exercise?

You can think very simply.
Eating - consuming (basic metabolic rate + activity such as exercise) = stored flesh
If you consume more than you eat, the stored flesh will be - and then you lose weight.
You can say that what you eat and move right now makes you weight right now.
You can eat less, exercise, and whatever you do, your weight is adjusted to suit your life.
Weight = Life
