Sharp's air purifier smells, why is that?

I use a mechanical air purifier.

It doesn't keep doing that, but it smells sometimes. Why is that?

Is it because it's time to change the filter?

If you open the Sharp Air Purifier filter, there's a blue filter in the middle
This is a humidification filter
Because of this, it's damp and moldy, so it smells
You can sanitize this filter and wash it

It's because of the humidification filter
It's worse during the rainy season these days like this
You have to wash it every few days and dry it
It's better to disinfect it, but you can soak it in water for about 30 minutes
It's kind of annoying to take care of it
