Is there a reason why people who buy iPhones from carriers?

I'm looking into buying an iPhone this time.

There is no difference in price whether you buy it from a carrier or just an Apple store.

Is there a reason to buy it from a telecommunication company because there is no price difference?

I think it will be more inconvenient because it takes an appointment.

I just bought it at the Apple Store for the same reason.
And the fare was much cheaper when I used a mobile carrier.
