What is viral marketing?

I'm looking for a part-time job and it's a viral marketing job.

I think it's word-of-mouth marketing if I interpret it as it is, but is it something that promotes it to people around me?

Is it like writing a blog after using the product?

I'm curious about specifically what it is.
