If I buy an iPhone when I have an iPad that I signed up for Apple Care,

I signed up for Apple Care on the iPad I'm using now. If I buy an additional iPhone, will it be applied together if there is a pre-subscribed Apple Care?

Or can I add it by paying an additional fee?
