Which one do you like better, Bangkok or Chiang Mai?

I chose Thailand as a place to travel in July. The first thing I thought of was Chiang Mai, but I thought it would be too boring to have a relaxing time.

I didn't even go to Bangkok, but should I go to Bangkok?

Or would Chiang Mai be better?
