Does foundation-free really improve your skin?

I'm going to the dermatologist because of acne.

I'm taking acne medicine steadily, but if I stop taking medicine for a while, acne will come up again.

So I'm thinking of doing foundation.

Does foundation really improve my skin?

Does acne get better?
