Existing Kakao T users can call and use about 70,000 taxis registered in Japan Taxi with the Kakao T app used in Korea when visiting Japan. If you open the updated Kakao T app in Japan after the 6th, it will automatically switch to a screen where you can call a local taxi. It can be recognized even if the destination is entered in Korean, and a ‘translation talk’ function that translates sentences into Japanese will also be provided to communicate with local taxi drivers.
The roaming call fee has not been set yet. In Japan, the call fee for Japan Taxi is 410 yen (about 4,000 won), which is different from Kakao T, which is free of charge. However, Kakao Mobility decided not to accept roaming call fees for three months from the launch date. An official of Kakao Mobility said, "We are considering the appropriate level of call usage fees considering local prices," adding, "The roaming call fees will be automatically paid with credit cards registered with Kakao T after the dispatch is completed."
It's free for 3 months.
I don't know if I'll use the taxi because it's too expensive, but I'll share the information.
