Is tangerine skin food waste? Is it regular garbage?

I was wondering how to recycle tangerine peel.

I heard before that you can't do anything like skin, but I'm not sure if it's accurate.

Is it food waste?

Or is it regular garbage?

Or is there a completely different way?
