Do I eat the data as much as the size of the picture when I receive the picture I sent through Kakao Talk?

I'm curious about receiving pictures through Kakao Talk.

If you receive a very high-definition large-capacity picture, do you eat that much data as soon as you open the conversation window?

Or did you do something on Kakao Talk to prevent this?

I took care of it once on Kakao Talk, so the resolution is lower than the original
Personally, I don't like it when I want to get the original version
