What is the difference between optical zoom and digital zoom?

I saw on the camera that there were optical zoom and digital zoom. What's the difference between these two?

Digital zoom refers to zooming in on an image as if it were a computer

Zooming in with a lens is called optical zoom
If you zoom in on a picture on your computer with a magnifying glass button, the quality of the picture is broken and it's enlarged. This is digital zoom
