How do I erase files that keep piling up in the c:\windows\temp folder?

I looked it up because you said you didn't have enough hard disk space.

c:\windows\temp

I'm using dozens of gigabytes in this folder.

It looks like a file that doesn't seem like it needs much, so how can I erase it so that it doesn't pile up at all?
