Which is more comfortable for 5 people, a car or a 5-seater SUV?

I'm going to rent a rental car with 5 friends because I don't know which one is wider and more comfortable for 5 people. I've been in a passenger car, but I haven't been in a 5-seat SUV, so I don't know what it's like. If you two compare, which one would be more comfortable?
