It depends on what you're working on.
If you want to keep up with the latest games, you'll have to keep changing it for a year or two.
If it's just Internet, it doesn't require a lot of laptop specifications, so it's broken and no more parts come out, so you can use it until it doesn't work.

If you look at Windows,
Windows xp and Windows 7 OS are the main OS.
(This means that you don't feel the need to upgrade Windows because it's more complete than OS such as Windows Vista, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1)
You can continue to write until the main window changes.
