Is it okay to talk in English in Taiwan?

It's my first trip to Taiwan.

I'm going to go around Kaohsiung, Taipei.

But I can't speak Chinese at all.

It may be difficult to have a complete conversation, but I thought it would be okay to use words and stuff like that like Korea.
