What's the reason for the price difference between gasoline and diesel?

gasoline diesel

I heard that there is not much difference between gasoline and diesel prices in foreign countries.

What is the reason for the price difference between gasoline and diesel in Korea?

Shouldn't gasoline be cheaper because gasoline is easier to get at cost?

It's because they're taxed differently differently.
In the case of oil, since all of it is imported from abroad, it has a huge impact on the national economy.
So to benefit the industry and to curb luxury goods,
Gasoline: diesel = 10:8
Taxed at a rate.
It's still the same now because I decided like this in the past and kept using it as it is.
There's a discussion about changing it, but I don't know what will happen.

In our country, taxes on oil are very high.
Gasoline is 871 won per liter and diesel is 632 won.
More than half of it is tax.
