I made it at home and it tastes so different from what they usually sell at the mart.

Even if it's plain yogurt, I put a lot of things including sugar, not yogurt.
Homemade ones taste sour and dry.
That's the original yogurt solution.
Since it's a fermented product, yogurt is a bit sour.
It tastes normal, so you can just eat it.
At first, it might be a bit burdensome to eat, but if you keep eating it, the yogurt tastes good.
If you feel uncomfortable eating it for the first time, you can enjoy it with strawberry jam, honey, or sugar.
