Is there a reason why you use only two fingers when you play the bass guitar?

base guitar -instrument music performance

I'm a beginner who's learning bass.

It's like learning at an academy, and when I looked up YouTube courses, I only used my index and middle fingers.

Is there a reason why I use only two fingers when I play the bass guitar?

I used all five fingers to play the guitar, but I don't know why I don't play the base.

Wouldn't it be easier and more colorful if I used all five?

I don't know exactly, but I heard that the bass is similar to a rhythmic instrument
Unlike guitars that play a lot of melodies, the bass supports the entire performance and contributes more to the rhythm
As a result, you don't have to play it fast, so using two fingers can control your strength and play it accurately
